Alexa PenaVega at the Spare Parts Movie Premiere

Congratulations to my client and friend Alexa for her new movie Spare Parts!  I had the opportunity to do her hair for the movie premiere and we decided to give it a Rapunzel inspired fish tail braid.

Hair Talk:

I first gave Alexa a deep right side part on and wrapped random pieced around a 1 inch curling iron for texture and body. Once finished I started french braiding her hair from the right temple to the lower left nape then continued it into a fish tail.  When done braiding, I secured the braid with an elastic and pulled some pieces out by the face and the braid for a loose and lived in texture. Use bobby pins to shape and pin unwanted loose pieced and finish with Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi Finishing Hairspray to hold the look and you are good to go!

Shades of Metal

So excited about this shoot for Revs Magazine online!  I love playing with braids and am so glad to finally get to do an entire braid story!  Braids are the perfect took to create rad shapes, textures, and it's an amazing outlet to let loose and play.

The hair accessories we all hand made by myself and my friend Veronica Nunez, a punk rock bad ass hair stylist that helped me put this together!  I knew she hand created a lot of her own cool rock and roll accessories and clothes so I knew I needed to have her help to create these spiked hair accessories to complete the look.  We sat on my couch all night watching the Law and Order marathon and glued our little hearts away!  So happy we did cause I really think it completed the story.

Hair Talk:

For Emily's braids, I used Unite's Wicked Wax to help control all the fly-aways and also to give me a little grip to create tight and clean braids.  It definitely helps when you have control over every strand!

Penelope & Coco 2014 Campaign

Penelope & Coco's new line of oxfords are out!  All of us girls went all the way out to the beautiful desert to shoot this campaign and it was totally worth every moment. Maybe waking up at 5am wasn't the best part but spending a day with creatives in perfect warm weather just made me realize how lucky I am.

I got to play with some fun texturized angel and fishtail braids on our model to go with our western/ desert queen theme.
